Early MLB Season Action at Florida Spring Training

Every year during the months of February and March, fans of Major League Baseball get a chance to see their favorite players in action and get a glimpse of what’s in store next season at Spring Training in Florida’s Grapefruit League.

Promoted and organized by the Florida Sports Foundation, Florida Spring Training Baseball attracts millions of baseball fans and visitors each year, as 15 pro baseball teams head to Florida for a preseason tune up. In 2018, there were nearly 1.5 million fans who attended, and since 2000, over 29 million fans have ventured to Florida to experience the excitement of the Florida Spring Training games. The event has generated a significant economic impact of more than $687 million each year for the Sunshine State.

Participating MLB Teams

Every February and March, Florida hosts the annual Spring Training of 15 Major League Baseball teams. It’s a spring tradition that dates back more than a century, attracting more than 1.5 million fans every year who all come to attend games throughout the state.

2019 Governor’s Baseball Dinner

To celebrate a new season of Major League Baseball Spring Training each year, the Florida Sports Foundation hosts the Governor’s Baseball Dinner at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in West Palm Beach.

The event was held last February 17, 2019, hosting more than 350 guests which included team personnel and community leaders throughout the state. You can watch a few highlights of the evening’s festivities here.
